Management Team
Clinical Lead for Children & Young People

I completed my Psychology Undergraduate degree at The University of Glasgow in 2008.  Following this, I worked as an Assistant Psychologist within NHS Weight Management Service, NHS Substance Misuse Service and NHS Forensic Intellectual Disabilities Service.  I then completed my Clinical Psychology Doctorate at The University of Edinburgh.  During my 3 years of training I was placed across various area’s and services in Tayside.  I qualified as a clinical psychologist in 2016.  Since then I have worked in adult primary care mental health, adult community mental health team and the North of Scotland Young People’s Inpatient Unit, where worked with Children, Young People and professionals across Scotland.

I have used various evidenced based psychological interventions including – Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).  I am also trained in Triple P (Positive Parenting Programme).  I have worked with various presentations and mental health difficulties, such as obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), anxieties, depression/low mood, trauma and eating disorders.  I also have experience working with neuro-diverse presentations, such as autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). I believe that a strong understanding and formulation is important in guiding treatment.  I also believe it is important to adapt interventions and approaches to suit the individual’s needs.

I am very much looking forward to joining the service as Clinical Lead for Children & Young People across both The St Andrews Practice and The Invertay Practice. My role will be to co-ordinate and further develop this part of the service, lead and support the multi-disciplinary CYP team, and ensure that children and their families who use the service have the best experience possible.
